This dog harness is the evolved version of our previous x-back harness model. Since 2010, the Nansen harness has been used by dog teams that have won international medals in both bare ground, middle and long distance races. At the same time, there is always something that can be improved, which is why our product developers and athletes worked side by side to optimize the fit and material. Extreme conditions place high demands on the equipment, which is why the Nansen nome-sele 5.0 was thoroughly tested. Our testers have used the harness over a distance equivalent to 16 revolutions around the earth! It is also the harness that Thomas Wærner used when he won the Iditarod in 2020.
The harness is designed to allow the dog to perform optimally without restricting movement or breathing. The Y-shaped front and the flat chest piece use all the power that the dog puts into the harness. A straight section over the dog's neck gives full freedom of movement in the shoulder area. For dogs that pull to the side, this harness reduces the risk of strain as the back belt travels on the attachment point, leveling the harness and the dog. A reflective flap in the neck makes it possible to see irregularities in the dog's movement, even in the dark.
The Nansen nome harness is available in half sizes, which have the same back length but a larger neck circumference. Half sizes have a red end rope, full sizes have a blue end rope. The rope length of this harness varies from size to size. Therefore, the overall length of the harness is the same, regardless of size. This drawstring is available in sizes 5-9.5.
The dog's well-being is important to us as we carefully design every harness at Non-stop dogwear. Ergonomic design requires attention to detail. We always sew seams so that all materials overlap without hard edges. The harnesses are made of durable, tightly woven nylon and have closed-cell padding to prevent water ingress while maximizing comfort. Each seam has its smooth side against the dog's body, all to ensure that the harness does not rub the dog. All our harnesses have integrated 3M reflective material for the dog's safety. This anatomical design method with freedom of movement and comfortable breathing is our trademark.
